Can you believe Thanksgiving is next week?
Seems like we were just celebrating Halloween.
Time flies during this time of year (probably because it is the best time of year).
Here is a little inspiration of some Thanksgiving decor:

How will you be decorating on Thursday?

Diamonds are a girl's best friend (besides her husband-to-be of course).
And usually diamonds & weddings go hand in hand.
So we thought we would share some of our favorite jewelry shops in the Salt Lake area to help you find the perfect ring and/or wedding band.

Where do you enjoy ring shopping?

Let's talk hair & makeup.
We all know how important this is when it comes to your wedding day.
There are so many options to consider.
Hair down or up? Smokey eye or more natural? Red, pink or nude lip?
I mean the options are really endless and you want these options to be executed perfectly.
So here are some great makeup & hair stylists we recommend:

What stylist would you use on your special day?

Come fly with OK3AIR

Recently we were hired to plan and execute an engagement proposal for a couple based in New York City but came to vacation in Park City.
It was so much fun to let our romantic creative brain run wild. We felt as though we were planning a date for the Bachelor!
The client decided upon taking his fiance-to-be on an airplane ride across the canyon followed by a private dinner. We booked the flight through OK3AIR, located in Heber, and we are so glad we did.
They have the most fantastic scenic tours as well as the most friendly and helpful staff.
Loren, a flight instructor at OK3AIR, even invited us back to go on a scenic tour of our own.
Let me tell you this is an experience everyone should do in their life!

Loren even let us tour a private plane they had on site. We would love to travel like this. There was even a full sized bed in the back!

This is what we got to ride in. Carrie even got to fly the plane!

OK3AIR not only does scenic tours, they can fly to remote locations to go camping, teach you the art of flying, and help you travel in style to your next destination!

One very important part of the reception, for a lot of brides, is the music and dancing.
Whether it is creating the perfect playlist for your guests to get their groove on to or just trying to find the most romantic song for you and your honey to dance to for the first time as Mr & Mrs.
There are so many songs out there and it can feel a little overwhelming.

Here are the most popular dancing songs at weddings:
1. I Gotta Feeling by The Black Eyed Peas
2. Sex on Fire by Kings of Leon
3. Mr. Brightside by the Killers
4. Superstition by Stevie Wonder
5. Dancing Queen by Abba

And here is a list of the top six classic love songs:
1.The Power of Love by Celine Dion

2. The Way You Look Tonight by Tony Bennett

3. When I Fall in Love by Nat King Cole

4. Can You Feel the Love Tonight? by Elton John

5. Eternal Flame by The Bangles

And then when your special day has ended, there is no better way to cherish your love song then by displaying it in your house!

create an oversized sheet music print--you can do this at Staples!
Or write the lyrics of the song around a picture of your first dance.

What song would you want played at your wedding?

Baby, it's getting cold outside..

Winter is just around the corner so we thought we would share a couple ideas to get you excited for the colder months!

How amazing would a hot chocolate bar be to keep your guests warm and cozy at your next event? There could be marshmallows in the shape of hearts, homemade whip cream, sprinkles & even different types of hot chocolate to choose from. Oh the possibilities..

How cute are those mini donuts?

I also love the idea of incorporating fur into a winter wedding. Fur is sophisticated yet gives off a winter wonderland theme.

any guest would love staying warm with this faux fur blanket!

What would you want to incorporate in your next winter event?

Pinks, peaches & corals were quite the trend in weddings this summer & we are thrilled to show you another perfectly pink wedding.
The wedding was located in a beautiful garden setting with bistro lights illuminating the sky. I especially loved the idea of hanging a magnificent chandelier to dance the night away under! This was a magical and picture perfect wedding.

We are so excited to share with you one of our favorite weddings of the summer!
Wildflowers, old family heirlooms, lace & hanging candles makes this vintage wedding a stunner.  Nikki, the beautiful bride, had a distinct vision and we are so happy with the final product.

Nikki & Joel were such a lovely couple to work with. Congrats you two!

We know wedding season is winding down but we couldn't help but share such a unique wedding.
What makes this wedding stand out you ask? You know how lots of couples like to include dogs in their special day? Well Aubrey, the bride, decided she needed her pet tarantula celebrating with her.
It sure made her guests remember her wedding day!

Chase and Aubrey were such a fun and easy going couple to work with. Their love for each other radiated throughout the day. Thanks you two for letting us be apart of such a wonderful event!

What is something you would incorporate in your wedding to make it memorable?

Tips of the Trade

There is so much to think about when planning a wedding or hosting an event. It is easy to get overwhelmed. We thought of just a few tips that can help alleviate the planning process; whether it be a backyard bbq or the wedding of your dreams.

  1. Decide on what type of feel you want for your event and be sure the venue and decor match this feel. Deciding on a theme will help guide the planning process and make it easier when picking out decorations.
  2. Establish a budget if need be.  This is critical because knowing how much you can or want to spend will ground you in reality, as you see what is possible and what you may need additional funding to achieve. You may also want to think about the number of guests you are inviting because that will be a huge factor on your budget.
  3. Try to contact your vendors with as much notice as possible. This allows you to check prices and get your number one choice of vendor.
  4.  When planning your timeline of the day,  always leave a nice cushion of time between sub events. This way you do not feel rushed and it is better to be early than have your guests waiting.
  5. Always have a Plan B! Be prepared for the unexpected such as bad weather or technical difficulties. Your event will run much more smoothly if you know exactly how to recover when something is not going your way.

Try to enjoy the planning process. Have fun deciding on themes, decorations, vendors, etc. But if you want most all the stress of planning your event to go away, give us a call! Planning and designing is what we live for!

Winter Wonderland

We have another great wedding to fawn over!
I have no doubt you will all now crave a winter wedding like I did after seeing this event.
It is simply stunning and the bride, Micia, is so fashion forward.
Micia used the snow to her advantage in envisioning her wedding. She wanted a fresh and whimsical yet sophisticated feel. The wooden candle/flower holders and hanging jars set the mood just right. Not to mention her beautiful fur coat and baby's breath bouquets.
Thanks Dustin Izatt for sending these beautiful photos our way!
